By India Today Web Desk: A large white balloon was spotted just to the East of Honolulu, Hawaii on Monday. At present, there have been reports via ACARS of several commercial flights flying over the region of a large white balloon located approximately 500 miles to the east of Honolulu, reported Fox News. The altitude of this balloon is estimated to be between 40,000 and 50,000 feet. It comes just days after US officials claimed that a previously downed Chinese “spy” balloon that was targeting the state of Hawaii was blown off course. A tribute to Richard Belzer of ‘Homicide: Life on the Street’

Baltimore wears its weirdness, the grand and the shabby, on its star-spangled sleeve. We named a football team after a poem about a guy being haunted by a bird because its troubled creator died here. We obsess about crab seasoning. We know you don’t understand our accents, and we like it that way. In short, we’re the only kind of place that could have created a character as singularly and endearingly odd as Detective John Munch, played by comedian Richard Belzer, who died Sunday at age 78. For six years, he was the conspiracy theory-spouting soul of “Homicide: Life On The Street,” filmed in and around Baltimore and based on real-life Detective Jay Landsman from the David Simon book that inspired the series. Munch took his sardonic wit to New York for 15 seasons of “Law & Order: SVU” after the cancellation of “Homicide” — an event that still saddens me 24 years later — and appeared in a total of 10 different series. But he will always be quintessentially Baltimore to me because ev

Olivia Benson, and Richard Belzer as Special Investigator John Munch in an episode of "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit." Belzer, a stand-up comedian with a devoted following, got his acting start in the 1974 film "The Groove Tube." He was also featured in early episodes of "Saturday Night Live."  But Belzer's most memorable role was Detective John Munch, which he played on "Homicide: Life on the Street" from 1993 to 1999. Belzer continued the role on the "Law & Order" series, appearing in

Ant-Man 'Quantumania' star Kathryn Newton talks Paul Rudd and the role that 'changed my life'

READ MORE: BINTEEZ Some dads and daughters might go for a brisk walk to bond. In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as "Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” star Kathryn Newton discovered, the pace picks up considerably. “60% of this movie was running!" says Newton, who plays Cassie Lang to Paul Rudd's shrinking super-dad Scott. "I'm struggling. I'm much younger. And he never complained. He had to be dying." At least she didn't have to work on "my superhero run,” she adds. “Apparently it was just fine.” Newton, 26, who's appeared in “Lady Bird" and “Blockers,” is being introduced to a massive mainstream audience via "Quantumania" (in theaters now). Here are five things you need to know about Marvel's newest face: Cassie Lang (Kathryn Newton) and her superhero dad Scott (Paul Rudd) navigate the Quantum Realm in "Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania." Cassie boasts youthful enthusiasm and her super suit and shares quite a f

Who is MODOK, the obnoxious antagonist from Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumia in Marvel films?

Image
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is the first film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Phase Five, promising to kick off a three-year arc of adventures centered around the threat of the villainous Kang the Conqueror. But as Kang overshadows Quantumania, there’s another character in his shade. He’s an evil genius, a grotesque laboratory experiment, and he’s among the best-beloved Marvel supervillains (for being the absolute worst). He’s MODOK. WHO IS MODOK IN ANT-MAN AND THE WASP: QUANTUMANIA? Marvel Studios’ trailers for Quantumania have been light on MODOK sightings — we’ve seen him all armored up, whizzing around firing lasers, but aside from blink-or-you’ll-miss-it moments, the full glory of how weird MODOK looks has been kept under wraps. However, it seems likely he’ll be allied with Kang in some way, one of the foes over which Scott Lang will have to triumph. MODOK is also played by Corey Stoll, which gives us a big hint as to his possible MCU origin. Stoll played Darren Cross, a

NFL's eight biggest Super Bowl windows right now? Chiefs, Eagles and Bengals top list; Bills at No. 7

Former NFL player and scout Bucky Brooks knows the ins and outs of this league, providing keen insight in his notebook. In today's installment, he examines the current cream of the crop entering the 2023 off-season. The NFL is the undisputed king of American sports. This is at least partially due to league parity -- the promise that anything can happen on any given Sunday. But does that parity extend all the way to Super Bowl Sunday? Not so much, at least from my perspective. Despite the NFL's annual drive for balance, there's still a vast difference between the contenders and pretenders in this league. Though quarterback play is a significant factor in determining which teams can compete at the highest level, the true title contenders typically feature a top-tier signal-caller AND a collection of blue-chip players at marquee positions. So, how many rosters bring that alluring combination to the table? Now you see what I'm getting at here. Fresh off Super Bowl LVII, I w
